Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — After conducting a nationwide search, Democratic Leader Joanna McClinton has named Trevor Southerland the executive director of the Pennsylvania House Democratic Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm for Democrats in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“We are truly ecstatic to welcome Trevor to the PA HDCC. His extensive experience is rooted in a deep commitment to electing state Democrats and flipping legislatures from red to blue,” said Democratic leader Joanna McClinton. On day one, he brings the experience, knowledge, and passion required to elect a Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. I believe that he is the right person for this moment to lead our caucus to historic gains in 2022.”
Trevor Southerland served as Executive Director of the Virginia House Democratic Caucus in 2018/19, flipping the House of Delegates for the first time in twenty years. Under his leadership, he retained 100 percent of incumbents. He served as finance director for Virginia House Democrats from 2014 to 2017, bringing new financial giving strategies and opportunities to Virginia. In 2013/14, he served as the Finance Director for the Michigan Senate Democratic Fund, breaking fundraising records quarter after quarter and prior to that was the Annual Fund Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia.
Pennsylvania House Democrats need to pick-up 12 seats to elect a Democratic majority in 2022.
