“Together with House Democrats, we’ve delivered commonsense accomplishments for Pennsylvanians, from the largest tax cut for seniors in decades and a childcare tax credit for working families to historic education funding and economic development investment — and I need them by my side to keep delivering for Pennsylvanians.” - Gov. Josh Shapiro

Harrisburg, PA., September 9th, 2024 As part of his push to maintain a Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Governor Josh Shapiro announced his endorsement of 20 key Democratic State House incumbents and challengers to continue delivering commonsense accomplishments all across the Commonwealth.

  • Rep. Rob Matzie (HD 16)

“Maintaining a Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania State House is critically important to accomplishing my priorities as Pennsylvania’s Governor — good schools, safe communities, economic opportunity, and protecting real freedom,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “That’s why I’m all in to defend our majority and elect more Democrats to the State House this November. Together with House Democrats, we’ve delivered commonsense accomplishments for Pennsylvanians, from the largest tax cut for seniors in decades and a childcare tax credit for working families to historic education funding and economic development investment — and I need them by my side to keep delivering for Pennsylvanians.”

These State House candidates represent some of the most competitive races in the state and are key to maintaining and increasing the Democratic Majority in PA - the People’s Majority. With a one vote majority in the house, Democrats were able to deliver historic funding for our public schools, investments for safer communities across the Commonwealth, cut taxes and costs for working families, and deliver more money to create jobs on Main Streets across the Commonwealth.

By expanding the Democratic majority, the PA State House will be able to work more effectively with Gov. Shapiro to pass more legislation to benefit the People’s Priorities - including protecting abortion access, continuing to fund our children’s education, strengthening infrastructure, protecting our environment, and keeping the cost of living and taxes low for Pennsylvania’s residents.
